Artist
Born in 1950 in Trois-Rivière, Quebec, Normand Boisvert is self-taught since 1965. Since, many have tracked Normand’s progress, from his beginnings with the figurative through his black period to his colorful nudes, leading to the landscape, seemingly his and other artists true direction.

The work of Normand Boisvert, a swarm of sinuous forms possessing a pronounced spacial construction in colors that are at once bold and muted, is intensely startling. Vigorous life throbs from within this swirl of interwoven forms, producing an art that is entirely original and representing a masterly display of formal clarity. This work is a marriage of the advantages of the figurative and the abstract. In its subjects, a pictorial absolute particular to abstract art is unquestionably added to familiar structure.

Normand’s Boisvert approach therefore is to put his talent before the critic who is never wrong : « the public »; the critic who either likes or dislikes, and who judges art more severely than anyone else.
